If a beneficiary is under the age of 18 or unable to open an account on their own, they can choose to have someone else open and manage their account as an Authorized Legal Representative (also known as an ALR). Account managers can include: anyone selected by the beneficiary, a guardian, conservator, spouse, parent, sibling, grandparent, representative payee, or someone with power of attorney.
